New Home Baptist Church Leadership
New Home Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Brother Matt was appointed to serve as New Home Baptist Church's Senior Pastor February 2019. Prior to that, he served as Youth Minister/Associate Pastor at New Home.
He is currently attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary working towards a degree in Bachelor of Arts and Christian Ministry.
Matt is a native of Elmore County, and he graduated from Holtville High School in 1999. He has been happily married for 10 years to his wife, Carmen, and they have two darling children, Reece and Rylee Anne. Carmen is also a native of Elmore County and graduated from Wetumpka High School in 2000. She is very active in the church by teaching women's classes, assisting in the children's wing, and caring for the people of the church beyond expectation.
Matt volunteers as a fireman with Buyck Volunteer Fire Department. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and studying God's Word, preferably outdoors.
Children's Ministry Director
Jennifer has been a member of New Home for 17 years, and has volunteered in the children's ministry most of that time. She officially joined the staff as Children's Ministry Director in August of 2018, believing that helping children further their faith and presenting the gospel to all children through this position is what she should be doing for God in this season in her life.
Jennifer grew up in the tri-county area, finding her home in Titus at the age of 14. She graduated from Alabama Christian Academy in 2007. Jennifer graduated from The University of Alabama in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
Jennifer has been happily married for 9 years to her husband, Travis. They have three beautiful children: Levi, Olivia, and Holden. In the bits of time she has free, Jennifer enjoys painting, crafting, creating vinyl designs, and hiding from her kids to eat chocolate. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 119:105.
Youth Ministry Director
Steve has a real heart for today's youth, and we are blessed to have him at New Home! He has been serving our youth well since August 2018. Steve also serves the church as a deacon.
Steve is married to his lovely wife of 14 years, Emily. They have three adult children: Steven, Stephanie, and Lindsay.
Steve is now retired, but prior to retirement, he was a millwright. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and being outdoors enjoying God's handiwork in general. His favorite songs are "Rescue Story" and "Midnight Cry", and his favorite Bible Verse is Romans 8:28.
Jimmie has served as New Home's Worship Leader since 2011, although he has been leading worship in one capacity or another since he was in the 9th grade.
He states that the most important part of being a worship leader to him is to facilitate a personal worship experience with God for each member of the congregation. His desire is to bring people to the feet of King Jesus through song.
Jimmie has a hard time narrowing his favorite song down to just one, but says that he can never go wrong with a Chris Tomlin song. As far as traditional hymns, he likes "Because He Lives" and "I'd Rather Have Jesus". Those transport him back to Spanish Fort, Alabama where he grew up.
Jimmie and Lisa have been married for years and have three beautiful adult daughters: Shannon, Jessica, and Michelle.
Holley joined the New Home family when she married her husband, Chris in 2003, who has been a member of New Home his entire life except for a few years when he and Holley worshiped and served in Santuck Baptist Church, then First Baptist Church of Wetumpka. Chris and Holley stated that returning to New Home in 2019 was "like coming home". Holley continued her service to Christ by joining the New Home Staff as Ministry Assistant in February of 2020.
Holley has lived in Elmore County her entire life and graduated from Holtville High School in 2000. She enjoys reading, organizing and cleaning, studying essential oils, farming cattle with Chris, and being a mom to their two teens, Jaiden and Preston, and their friends too. Chris is also a native of Elmore County and graduated from Wetumpka High School in 1994.
Holley's favorite verse in the Bible is Esther 4:14, because she feels that God has called her to this specific place and time in history to do His work, which looks a lot like being an office secretary and youth sidekick right now.
